Lacombe Regional Lift Station

The North Red Deer Regional Wastewater Services Commission needed to build a large diameter trunk line to transport wastewater from the Town of Blackfalds, and the City of Lacombe, to the City of Red Deer Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Using a construction management approach, our team assessed the site and scope of work. The project required the build of lift stations beside the existing wastewater lagoons in south Blackfalds and east Lacombe. The lift station will be a three-storey structure on a 240 m2 building footprint. The building had a single above-grade floor built over two levels of below-grade structure for pumps and reservoirs.

Work on the pipeline was also required as was a deep excavation; a septage receiving station; a precast exterior wall system and structural pumps; instrumentation; and yard civil work including the draining of an existing lagoon.
