Central School is a significant historical asset for the City of Red Deer. The original structure was built in 1940, with subsequent additions completed in 1949 and 1965. The building was originally used as a school and was later renovated to support the 2019 Canada Winter Games, as well as provide office space for the City of Red Deer.
Our work included asbestos abatement, washroom upgrades, window replacements, new interior finishes, millwork and flooring, as well as new mechanical and electrical systems. The project also included a complete re-roofing of the 1965 addition.

Due to the building’s age and limited historical documentation, unforeseen conditions were encountered throughout the project. The team maintained transparency with the client during both preconstruction and construction, supported by regular meetings and progress updates.
This project complemented our work on the Gary W Harris Celebration Plaza for the 2019 Canada Winter Games.
