Best Western Plus Sawridge Suites was the first hotel built north of the Athabasca River Bridge in Fort McMurray. Located in the TaigaNova Eco‑Industrial Park, the project was delivered from our Edmonton district and, at the time, was the closest hotel to major mine sites. The facility was designed to new Best Western standards and features numerous amenities, a conference centre, an adjacent office building, and a single‑level parkade.
The location of this project required challenging rock excavation, and the structure included CIP concrete foundation with structural steel above grade.
We used collaborative construction techniques that optimized schedule, quality and cost for the customer.
