The Red Deer RCMP Detachment was delivered for the City of Red Deer to support municipal policing operations, including general duty, community policing, traffic, GIS, victim services, bylaw enforcement, and administrative functions.
The new two-storey facility spans more than 90,000 sq. ft. and is LEED Silver certified. The site includes 77 staff parking stalls and 16 public stalls. The building features a contemporary exterior with masonry cladding, corrugated metal, and large glazed elements. Inside, a full-height circular reception area serves as the main client service space. Key features include a 16-cell block with four holding cells, several meeting rooms (with spaces up to 4,000 sq. ft.), more than 30 offices, and a floating gym for staff.
Sustainable elements include an energy-efficient building envelope, low-flow plumbing fixtures, and the use of recycled materials. The project also diverted more than 80 per cent of construction waste from landfill.
