This is our fifth project and third building envelope replacement at the Lethbridge Research Centre for Agriculture and Agri-Foods Canada.
The work took our national special services group (SSG) 18 months to complete. This building was built in the 80s but was not constructed properly and the envelope failed. The new envelope was replaced with the same air barrier and metal panel system that we used on the previous two buildings at this site.

This project continues Chandos’ ongoing work at the Lethbridge Research Centre, supporting Agriculture and Agri‑Foods Canada through a series of facility upgrades carried out over time. Having completed multiple projects at the site, the team approached the work with an established familiarity with the campus and its buildings.
The envelope replacement forms part of a broader sequence of improvements across the research centre. Completing similar scope on multiple buildings has allowed a consistent approach to addressing building envelope conditions, aligning this facility with upgrades already completed elsewhere on the campus.
Through repeated work at the Lethbridge Research Centre, this project contributes to a coordinated effort to improve existing infrastructure. Each envelope replacement builds on previous phases, reinforcing continuity across the site while addressing known issues within individual buildings.
