Lacombe Regional Lift Station

The North Red Deer Regional Wastewater Services Commission required a large-diameter trunk line to transport wastewater from the Town of Blackfalds, and the City of Lacombe, to the City of Red Deer Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Using a construction management approach, our team assessed the site and scope of work. The project included the construction of lift stations adjacent to the existing wastewater lagoons in south Blackfalds and east Lacombe. Each lift station was built as a three-storey structure with a building footprint of a 240 m², including one level above grade and two levels below grade to house pumps and reservoir systems.

The project also included pipeline work, deep excavation, a septage receiving station, a precast exterior wall system, structural pumping systems, instrumentation, and site civil work, including the draining of an existing lagoon.
