Svante

In Burnaby, BC, we are building a 141,000 sq. ft. research, storage, and office facility for Svante, a Canadian tech leader in carbon capture and removal.

The original office building has undergone redevelopment and expansion to transform into a new space. The facility will feature a research and development lab, office spaces, and a warehouse for The Buck, Svante’s proprietary C02 capture machine.

Before demolition could happen, our team performed significant ground stabilization work to mitigate seismic risks using a well-detailed risk assessment survey to ensure safety and structural stability. The team managed the demolition of the original building, removing drywall, existing slabs, old electrical, retaining walls, sidewalks, pavement, and completed a led abatement.

The carbon capture warehouse needed additional reinforcement to support specialized Svante equipment. Alongside our subtrade partners, our team performed a 2,940 cubic meter slab pour that was planned to use sequencing to ensure the project stayed on schedule.

The team implemented high levels of collaborative construction and used integrated project delivery (IPD)  principles in working with such a large number of trades.
