Royal Vista Link is a three storey commercial office building located in the North West quadrant of Calgary. The scope of work included an underground parkade, the three-storey concrete structure, surface parking and landscaping. Some unique features of the building included the full height curtain walls on the north and east elevations, a rooftop patio, a solar panel array and a feature stairway.
A challenge that we ran into was that the office building was located close to property lines. To avoid shoring and ensure minimal cost and schedule impact, our project team relied on our general contracting experience to coordinate efforts with the City of Calgary and other neighboring contractors. The building was also located in close proximity to a private school with busy vehicle and pedestrian traffic. To protect the students, our team scheduled concrete pours and large deliveries during their downtimes.
