The 50 year old Mountainside Pool in Burlington, ON was nearing the end of its lifecycle. We partnered with the City of Barrie and County of Simcoe to complete a new 55,000 sq. ft. multi-use outdoor swimming pool for the next generation of community members. It is an important recreation destination in the Halton community and services on average 27,000 participants every summer.
After a complete demolition, our team began construction. The pool and facilities were designed and built with barrier free access in mind, including teaching steps and a wading ramp so that everyone in the community can enjoy it.
The completed project includes:
- New 50 m lap and leisure pool with barrier free access
- Teaching steps and ramp
- Spray features
- Waterslide, rock climbing wall, lifeguard chairs
- Shade structures and turf grass
- Exterior showers
- Surge tank
